Band Bio
Don “Dr Boogie” Yuzwenko – Piano, Vocals
Dr Boogie is Don Yuzwenko, aka Don Young, Doc or just Boogie, a professional entertainer for over 30 years who sings and plays piano. His two-fisted command of the keyboard has given rise to the title “Dr Boogie”, and Don can fill a dance floor when he lays into a solo piano boogie. Don’s strength lies in his musical versatility, and, whether playing rhythm & blues, honky-tonk, rock & roll, jazz standards, contempory, sing-a-long or background. Dr Boogie is a favored performer, and brings a wealth of experience to the stage, and a world of joy to his audience.
Howard McKay – Guitar, Vocals
Howard McKay is a Drayton Valley resident and has a cabin in Mulhurst Bay. Howard has also been in the music business for over 30 years as a session player, song writer and educator. His musical styles include rock & roll, blues, progressive rock, and country. Howard is never still when it comes to music. If he is not fronting a band – singing and playing, he is a perfect choice for a sideman. Howard has both lead and backup vocal capacity. Howard studied at Grant MacEwan and University of Alberta music programs.
Dan McDonald – Sax, Vocals
Dan McDonald is a native Edmontonian who has been involved in the music scene for over 30 years. As with many musicians, the junior high school music program is where Dan got his first experienced playing the saxophone in stage and concert bands. Dan attended Grant MacEwan music program where he majored on Sax and also studied voice, composition, and piano. In addition, he also studied at the University of Alberta Bachelor of Music program. He has played, toured and recorded with various bands and is a soulful sax player in almost any genre. Dan keeps busy playing and recording with various Edmonton artists.
Jim Huddleston – Drummer, Percussionist
Jim is a cabin dweller in Ma-Me-O Beach and has played percussion professionally for over twenty-nine years. He attended the Percussion program at the Musicians Institute of Technology (MIT) in Los Angeles, California and has had the opportunity to play with world class musicians. Jim enjoys all musical genres including his favorite styles; Funk, Latin, Big Band, Jazz, and Fusion, to name a few. Jim has performed on television, participated on numerous recordings, and toured with several bands. Most of all he enjoys playing where he has an opportunity to employ his diverse musical abilities.
