Kick off the long weekend Party Tradition
with Roli Mack
Village Creek Restaurant & Lounge invite you to join us on May 15 & 16 as we kick off the long weekends of the summer. Every Long weekend up to and including Labor Day Weekend join us in our banquet room adjacent to the restaurant for live entertainment, dancing and lots of fun. From Country to Rock and Jazz to Blues we will have every kind of music imaginable.
The first long weekend in May is on the 15th & 16th where we will be featuring Roli Mack and his band. Roli plays a unique instrument called the “Chapman Stick”. This instrument looks like a guitar but is played like a piano.
In simple terms the Chapman Stick is a long guitar-like fingerboard that accommodates 10 strings (or 12 strings for the new Grand Stick) across 25 frets, with a stereo pickup near the base and tuning pegs at the top. The standard neck is 3 1/4 inches wide and 34 inches from bridge to nut. A unique shoulder strap and belt hook enable the player to be extremely comfortable while having total access to the entire 5 1/4 octaves. The floating pickup, is stereo-capable allowing the treble and bass ranges to be processed through separate amplifiers or different effects as needed. Individual volume controls are on board the Stick above the pickup housing, conveniently located near the right hand playing position. This setup affords the musician flexibility in tone, volume, and balance between treble and bass registers.
So come out and enjoy the sounds of Roli Mack and his Chapman Stick and hear the versatility in his voice as he sings from quite a few genres of music. Be sure to ask him for his rendition of Tiny Dancer by none other than Sir Elton John!
We are going to have themed events throughout the entire summer on various weekends so check often on our website where you can keep updated, Even a Maritimes night with sounds of the east coast.
